Hyatt Regency

Storyline Designs was engaged by the Hyatt Regency Perth to assist them with a large-scale refurbishment & upgrade to several areas of the hotel. 

Our services began with upgrades to the main circulation corridors around the hotel, replacing outdated carpets and repanelling all wall finishes, repainting and upholstering furniture where required.  The concept here was to create a fresh, contemporary look, whilst remaining true to the Hyatt Regency brand.  

These corridors lead into the Regency Club on the 8th floor, which is exclusive executive lounge & dining space, which guests are invited to use.  This space was feeling tired and run down, so all surfaces within were replaced or reupholstered to bring this in line with the executive, luxurious feel it needed to be.  

From here, we then created a Concept Design for the Main Grand Ballroom, the Plaza Ballroom & the lower ground level Traders Lounge.  All three function spaces were in desperate need of a refresh, with carpets, wall panelling & window treatments needing replacing throughout.  In addition to this, we reviewed opportunities to replace light fittings, upgrade paint colours and also reupholstery to furniture.  

The next areas to tackle were the main Conservatory space, located at the heart of the 9-floor atrium at the hotel, as well as their main restaurant called ‘The Café’. The Conservatory already had an abundance of natural light and some beautiful existing features, such as the large central fountain and the well-known piano, where you often find musicians playing on a weekend. So, our task here was to reupholster all the soft seating & dining furniture, to align this with the contemporary luxe vibe of the rest of the hotel, and upgrade some of the darker, more dated finishes within the space.  

The Café is located just off the Conservatory and is a real treasure of a space.  Our aim was to open up the entrance into this space as it felt enclosed and unwelcoming.  The space inside is vast, so we wanted people to be intrigued as they walk past and feel invited to enter.  A large array of finishes were replaced in this area, with a complete reupholstery assignment, new wall finishes, and activation to some of the dead spaces within.  This space required a cosy, welcoming atmosphere, with a touch of elegance and luxury. 

 Following the success of these areas, Storyline Designs have since been engaged to design a mock up bedroom concept and review potential upgrades and improvements to the main ground floor lobby & reception area…watch this space for more exciting developments to come!!
